Not able to play burned audio CDs (not mp3)

For the life of me, I can't burn a regular audio CD that will play in my E92 with idrive. Anyone else experienced something similar?

Its not *that* big of a deal, since almost everything I burn is MP3s, but CDs I burned for a friend won't work for me. They do, however, work in the home stereo, PC and the friend's car. Theres no "wrong way" to burn an audio CD using Nero, is there?

Do you know if the session is closed? Does it work on other cars or other CD players?

I have a (kinda) similar problem. I have trouble playing random songs on an MP3 disc. The songs play fine in other cars and computers, but certain songs won't play on my 335i. And it's always the same songs every time too, so when I burn another MP3 disc with the same song...it won't play.

Not sure about your problem. Just want to let you know that it should work. It does for me anyway.

Yes, the session is closed and it works in other cars.

I've found that whoever does the audio testing for BMW doesn't have a great filename test plan. If the name of the file has certain characteristics, it won't play. For example, if the file ends in ..mp3, it wont play. For example:
"Its Funky Enough - The D.O.C..mp3"

Next time I'm at the dealership, I'll throw the same CD in another car to see if it works. Thanks guys!

What brand cd's are you using?

That could be a problem.

It's also possible that you have mp3s that the car just can't decode. There are so many variables to "mp3" files it's fairly rare for an embedded device (eg car, cell phone) to handle every possible file you can play with your pc.
