Anybody recommend tires for my 3351 coupe... run flats suck. I was told michellin ps2's were the best.

Look at www.tirerack.com and look up the reviews. Personally I would go for BFGoodrich T/A KDW2 or Yokohama AVS ES100. But I know the forum people will tell you either Michelin PS2 or Goodyear Eagle F1. Those are too rich for me, I am poor.

P.S. You might want to also look at the "Wheels and Tires forum," there's a lotta discussions there. Or even better, do a SEARCH!!!!

You can, but won't have a spare or can put a spare and take up all the space in your trunk.
Have you tried "Tire Rack", they have some good recommendations.

When my run-flats are close to worn out, I'm going to replace them with Michelin PS2's and carry a compact or full size spare in my trunk. My brother has PS2's on his E46 and he loves them.

The run-flats are fine on nice roads, but they can get harsh on rough roads, even with my 17's. The 18's are probably a bit rougher.

Most major German tuners get rid of thr RFTs (including AC Schnitzer, Hartge and Alpina), probably for a good reason.

Normal tires are said to have better handling and grip. I have 2 sets of 18" wheels for my E90. One set with Potenza RFTs and one set with "normal" Pontenzas. The "Normal" ones are way better in my oppinion.

Grips levels are higher and they are more comfortable. (I have the M-sports suspension).

I carry an Emergency inflator set wich fit in the small room on the right side of the trunk. So no problems, and how often do you really have a puncture? I have tried it once in my life.

wait... bmw suspension is tuned specificaly for rfts?!?!? when was this. i never read anything about this. and second off, i dont understand why they would tune suspension just for tires... then whats the sport suspension on the sport package and the m package suspension.

i still think bmw should have the option of no runflat tires and a spare for cars that have rfts

and for bmw, most dealers will find anything to void your warranty, wuts next a air freshener voids your ac warranty cuz it did something to the air filter?

Depends on your budget for tires. You can go from General Exclaim UHP to Michelin PS2s. As other posters have said, non-RFT is the way to go. Instead of carrying a spare tire, you can also purchase the BMW Mobility kit http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462 for emergencies.

BMW M's don't use runflats and don't come with a spare tire... They only use the M-mobility kit, and the lifetime roadside assistance..

Lots of people, myself included, are much happier being RFT free.

How do non-RFT's compare in terms of steering response? Is it sharper, softer? I considering the change too... My old e46 w/ Bridgestone SP03's was razor sharp compared to the RFT potenzas. Pretty disappointing.

It is sharper with standard tires because of they are much lighter than the RFT's...

I wish I could try out non RFT's, but it's a little too late. The 19" RFT's on my BMW Performance wheels are really harsh on rough roads..
