Spare Tire?

Since I'm going to "upgrade" () my wheels from run-flats to "real" tires, I probably should pack a spare tire. What do you guys pack? Maybe I should go all balls to the wall and get the 5th rim + tire?

I will make long business trips with my car, and I hate the idea of being stranded somewhere waiting for the flat-bed truck.

I think I'd still just get a donut. A full size tire, especially depending on how big your rims are, is gonna be really heavy and take up a ton of space in the trunk. It may not look good if you have to use it, but who cares.

The e46 17" donuts work with a 15mm spacer on the 335i.

Bought the M mobility kit instead of spare. If that thing can't help, thats what Assist is for.

But wasn't assist will ignore you if you have non-runflat(of course if you call them because of flat tire)? at least that what the dealer told me.

i can't see how assist will ignore you, even if you have a non runflat.
i would explain to them that I couldn't find run flats at any tire store in that size and had no choice... hell with them

I also have AAA though, they don't care about run flat or non run flat...

I think I will get a spare too though..... not worth waiting for 3 hrs for assist or AAA....

This thing looks pretty awesome...

A cheaper version of the M-mobility kit. It's gonna give you pretty much the same extra 50 something miles as the run-flats.

Never heard that, but I think the dealer is jerkin you off. I can promise you if I use it they WILL pick my car up and take it to the dealer. Regardless of tires, I purchased a $50K car that came with 4 years BMW Assisit....period!

i gotta agree with halfpast...i had a flat with non-runflats in september and i used Assist...they sent a tow truck within 10 mins..but the catch was..if u want to be sent to the dealer..its free of charge..but if u dont and would rather be sent to a tire shop or anywhere else, they will charge you for the tow service... so i chose to be sent to my local tireshop and saved myself a headache from the BMW service center!! i think imma go with the M mobility kit!!

If you really must carry a spare tire, here is an option:

i think that is the best solution.... forget towing anwhere or waiting for tow, a few extra pounds in the truck ain't going to hurt.... especially with new rims that are saving thousands of pounds lol
