Installing Vorsteiner Decklid on E92er
Hi!
Got my Decklid from http://www.jlevisw.com (Thanks Nick!!) a couple of weeks ago. But now i wounder. How do i install it? I mean, when i put it next to my truck i get a narrow opening between my decklid and the trunk. Why is that? Is there anyone out there that have closeup pictures (would like high-res) so i can se how your fitment is? I would like to se the spilce between the decklid and your truck seen from up, and from behind. Hope you understand my bad english. Waiting for your help! Thanks

Might need to heat the spoiler up in the sun for a couple hours to make it more pliable before you install it. Then, once you are done, you need to clamp the sides for overnight to let the tape do its job.

it all depends on the type of spoiler you got from vorsteiner ... the cf version should fit right on and the same goes for the fiberglass version ... the PUR in my experience requires pressure from the middle of the spoiler to flex it out somewhat

apply pressure from the middle part of the spoiler and you will have trunk get closer to the spoiler ... u will probably need to hold it there for a while ... i suggest using betalink for it to get a permenant hold

Niklas, glad you like the spoiler! It's best to apply this spoiler while heated and with beta link glue to adhere to the trunk. You can use a heat gun (or hair dryer) to heat the plastic and mold it to the trunk.

You mean the carbon fiber version? That does have a little better fitment because it's, well, fitted. The PUR is more flexible so the fitment is dependent on how you install it.

Make sure you have the BMW roundel off the trunk before you install it. You then reapply the roundel on the spoiler.
