Hi mjh93a,

A quick question, I have a 330d the same as yours only LMB. The wife managed to reverse it into a merc yesterday

and the rear bumper is quite badly scuffed with a little dent just below the drivers side parking sensor. I reckon it needs a new bumper due to the dent and the deepness of the scuffing. If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost to repair the damage to yours, this will give me a guide when getting quotes.

I'm afraid that I have absolutely no idea what the reapair cost was. It was all handled through the bodyshop and I didn't have to do more than turn up with the car for them to repair.

I'm (still) just waiting for final confirmation that the insurers are all settled and that the whole thing has been put to bed. It's no wonder insurance costs so much when they take so long to handle a claim this simple.

hope your wife didnt just drive off leaving the merc driver wondering who damaged there car!

Whilst they had it I asked them to look at a small rattle in the boot. Apparently they think they know what it is and are having to remove large sections of the rear trim to fix it.

It's heaps better, but still not perfect.

They took out all the rear trim and refitted with anti-rattle tape, replaced the rear boot handle and the load cover (according to the paperwork).

I plan to have a bit of a poke around myslef to try and determine the remaining source.

Actually Carlos, she left a note for the Merc owner letting them know what had happened. I know how I would feel if someone did this to my car and didn't own up as does she. We may live in Essex but that doesn't make us scum!
