I mean, its a manual trans, & I do peel out from time to time, but not anything unusually abusive. I've never taken the car to the track. The reason I ask is twofold: 1) My '00 323Ci is on the 4th set of tires of its lifetime and they have always worn evenly. Now that car doesn't have the Sports package, although I do have the larger size (17'') wheels with the lower profile tires. Could this be due to the staggered tire sizes on the OEM Sport package? Other cars I've had always had their front tires wear MUCH sooner than their rears (i.e.> Ford T-Bird). 2) Other cars I've owned (including the 323) have also had their front brakes wear sometime before their rear brakes. There are a few posts lurking around here & on Bimmerfest about E90s wearing out their rear brakes FIRST, so I'm just wondering if there could be any connection between the two. ![]() |

I am probably not a good gauge since ever car I ever owned I never got the miles that manufactured claims you should get out of set of tires. This include the family van while I do not drive it anywhere near aggressive.
Anyway, I have an 07 RFT and have about 14K miles on them before I pulled them for winter tires. I would said base on the tread left I another 10k to 14k left. The fronts are definitely showing more wear than the back, but I tend to drive more back roads then highways and push it through the bends. |

I got 28,000 miles on my run flats. I just traded my 2006 E90 for a 2008 E92. And when I traded them the rears were very bald. I did however drive from Miami to Los Angeles in my E90 on these tires. Yeah, I'd say between 20k and 30k seems to be average for run flats.

i'm at 28k miles in my e90 330i w/ sport pkg -- i still have the OEM runflats, but the rears are gonna go soon. i usually drive pretty conservatively, but will be aggressive once in a w hile or on twisty roads..
i'm also looking for a replacement tire, but i want a higher mileage tire--i've heard people mention the yokohoma advan S...any other ideas |
