Interesting Concept, I think someone should try building some custom piping using the 328 snorkel.
That "intake" looks like an exhaust off a bike.

Actually the only thing that bothers me about everysingle one of the intakes out right now is that weird turn that the inlet for the front turbo has to make. Honestly, my plans were for DUAL Logic intakes modified to remove that little angle it had to divert air to that turbo.

i was going to modify said inlet though, so that it faces the fender instead of the firewall.

Why not just buy a filter for your current set-up? You do understand that the in-line filters your so excited about are meant for cars that have limited space, etc?
Your current air filter allows for more air, because it has a bigger surface area than those cans you've posted. It would be a back wards step in performance! The washable, regeneratable filter can also be bought for the current BMW airbox too. So it seems you have gotten excited over nothing. |

![]() My friend, you're not using the available information correctly, you're missing a huge part of the equation, design! The stock airbox surface area filters air all at once, in parrallel. Those BMC canisters might have surface area, but there is considerably more restriction in it's design. Basically the canisters are in serial, while the stock design operates in parrallel. You have less restriction in the stock airbox. |
