162 Run Flat

Hey everyone,

I know this issue has been covered in a lot of threads but I am still not clear about a few things. From what I've read, the wheels on the 162's don't last very long (in my opinion). I definitely think the 162's look amazing but I'm considering getting the standard 330i wheels.

However, I love the sports package so I'll probably end up getting the 162's. I know people say you can put on NON-run flats. I also know BMW says you shouldnt rotate your tires and also heard some saying the NON-run flats wont perform as well.

So my questions are:
1) Do those wheel that come standard w/o sports package last a lot longer than the tires on the 162? if so approx how much longer, are the tires cheaper to buy as well?

2)What are your opinions on putting NON-run flats?

3) Will NON-run flats possibly last like 25k-30k opposed to 10-12k, obviously, we have to consider personal driving style but approx.

4)Can you rotate the NON-run flats and does it void bmw warranty?

Thank you sooooo much for your helps, im new to wheels and need help.

Putting aside the fact that there is no room for a spare using NON-run flats, will my

I think you mean "tires". "Wheels" are the metal centers that the tires are mounted on, "tires" are the actual rubber.

2) I think it's probably ok to run non-run flats. A few members here have already switched to non-runflats and haven't reported anything bad. I personally think that BMW's claim that the suspension is designed just for runflats is more marketing than anything else.
