I don't think so. A lot of people are experiencing some boost creep because of the crap internal wastegate that Greddy went with. Having to boost 10lbs to hit 300whp is pretty bad IMO. I will most likely be going with inlinepro on my next s2k, but I think that I will go with a custom V-mount setup since it will be for road racing.

Did you use to launch the car a lot? Back home I use to have several friends with SC'd and turbo'd s2000's and only one of them blew the stock diff, but he use to launch his car all the time with 400+whp.

Greddy makes quality products. I have not experienced any problems with the ap1 and ap2 kits. They come set at 8 psi. We have the kits in stock. Driving an s2k with a turbo kit and the drop top is a very fun experience . Pm me if you have any questions, we work on a lot of s2k's at Logic.

Best Regards,
Max-

Well yes and no. Defiantly tracked it a lot though, which didn't help. I had one of the earlier models that had a lot of diff problems. Went with a Comptech reinforced cover when rebuilding it.

Might have to go FI on the s2k maybe next year. Anyways, $4k for the kit from inlinepro, not too bad since it comes with a lot.

Any idea what Engine management you would go with?

I would definitely go with an AEM EMS, nothing else. I have driven in turbo s2000's with piggybacks and they feel very on/off IMO, as if there is a slight delay between it taking over from the factory ECU, but with my EMS it felt like stock. Aside from what kit you decide to go with, getting a good tuner is probably the most important part of your entire setup and that will determine how much like stock your car will behave. Luckily, there have been a ton of guys that have gone turbo over the past few years so there are a lot of knowledgeable people and tuners for the s2k.

Also, the price on the inlinepro kit is a little misleading since you still need to buy some sort of engine management and supporting mods (ie. fuel injectors, oil cooler, ball bearing turbo upgrade, etc), but it is a proven kit. The reason why I like their setup is because they are one of the few that have gone with a cast manifold. Although it won't flow nearly as well as my old equal lenth lovefab manifold did, it will NEVER crack, and after cracking my old manifold a few times it gets old very fast when you have to remove your entier turbo setup for repairs. If I do end up going with an inline kit on my next s2k I would also probably add a thicker headgasket because of the fact that their manifold isn't as efficient as an equal length so you will most likely need to boost a few psi more to meet the same power levels, and with the lower compression you will give your tuner some more head room to make power.

BTW, I have a decent amount of experience with turbo'ing my old s2k so if you ever have any other FI questions, feel free to ask. I also experienced just about every problem imaginable with my old lovefab GT1 kit so that's where a lot of my knowledge comes from, and I'm striving to make my next setup as reliable as possible so it can handle track duty.

Can you imagine if Honda stuck 2 S2000 motors together, a 4.0L 9000RPM 480hp monster. GOD that would be amazing

i dont think thats terrible. i mean the s2000 makes more HP per liter than my Bmw and is over 800 lbs lighter, and usually most of those guys have some mods says their 30 stickers all over their car. So being a stock auto 335i, its a nice lil win.

NA mods almost make zero power on the F20. Just about the only substancial gain you are going to see is from a testpipe, and we are talking about 10whp there. Also, I never knew any local s2k guys who had 30 stickers on their cars, but I guess if you drive an import you are a ricer, right? Kind of how most bmw drivers are pricks, but I guess you like to help enforce stereotypes.

Actually, I'm not some ignorant southerner from the middle of a tobbacco field... I'm from NY so there is no need to compare populations, and when I was referring to local s2k's I was talking about my friend's cars from back home.
