2006 330i non-stock tire size

I just bought a used 2006 330i sedan and it has the sport package with 18" wheels. According to records BMW replaced the tires at 19K (has 29k now). Thing is both front and rear tires are 225/40 as opposed to the 255/35 that should be on the rear. What are the effects of this? Does it change speedometer readings?

At least I have the option to rotate front to rear and have a little more rim protection in the back. Just curious my they might have done it.

the 18"s are staggared and cannot be rotated.

If you have 225 all around, there is no rim protection on the rear so it wont matter if you rotate the tires or not. 225 is a little bit stretched though.

I did totally forgot about the staggered size when I posted. Still wondering why they would put that size on the back though....
