for the folks who simonized their cars....

.... how often do you wax your cars? I had my car simonized before I took delivery in december, and I feel I should do my spring cleaning. Is there anything I should look out for since it's simonized?

Also, I have countless little rock chips on my hood (commuting on a highway sucks), can I just touch it up even though it's simonized? I also wouldn't mind to wait another year until I touch it up, but do I have to worry about rust in that timeframe?

Thanks!

if i were you i would wait a little bit to retouch, since you wold probably want to strip off the simonizing protection before you apply touchup paint so that it can get the best bonding possible. but if you want to do it now, strip the simainizing protection off your car by doing a wash with some Chemical Cuy's Citrus Wash n Gloss or Dawn, and claybar to assure you get it all off. then do your touch-up work, then seal it up again with a quality sealant like a Zaino Z5 or Z2 or a Chemical Guy's jetSEAL109

Thanks! I think I'll wait, since it's pretty involved and I'll travel a lot this summer, so more rock chips are to come...

Thanks.

Practice the touchup before you do it on your hood. Its such an "in your face" type area that if it comes out blob'ish it'll be an eyesore.

I say pick your battles. If this is something inevitable to happen again and not some huge gash, then I'd wait till they accumulate some more or somethign major happens.

Road rash and rock chips are inevitable if you drive your car daily.

+1

Sometimes you can just make it stick out even more.

I think you're right, this could turn into a bigger headache. I think I just keep it waxed to keep the rust out...

Thanks all!

I don't know jack about the Simonizing but if it's the protection offered by your dealer, check your contract fine print.
Typically once you get rock chips on body panel parts, they void that section of the car unless you take it in right away.

The protection kit I got once (not BMW) had that stipulation and they didn't tell me exactly but when I took it in, I had a shit fit because they told me once rock chip hit the hood, that section was voided.
