Question about black

Is it easy to get tiny scratches on the clear coat on this color? I love the looks of the black and have never own a black car.. (I do know that you have to wash it quite often) Any info would be great

Thanks in advance

Yep, but you can usually wax it right off. this will be my third black car. Hot color, pain to keep clean, but looks awesome when its clean, definitely nice in the dark.

I like Titanium as well, looks clean even after a month!

Mike, 4 of my last 5 cars have been black. It's virtually impossible to keep swirl marks from eventually getting to your finish, but if you're real good about cleaning/waxing your car properly you can minize this. Check out this site, it's great for tips on how to best keep your car's paint in tiptop condition. Just be prepared to put in the work if you get black... but it pays big dividends

Ditto to all of these..Black is a pain especially in a wet climate because of the dirt and debris from the road, but is WELL more than worth it. All of my cars except one has been black; and remember swirl marks?! Use Zaino, and they will be a thing of the past. NOT ONE at all. Not only that, youll notice you will be washing your car less and less, because it will only take a quick wipe down to get rid of the dirt...Although with jet black you WILL have problems...

I imagine that it's still true. There are some very knowledgeable people at the Detailing forum at Roadfly.org.

As a former black auto owner, I will never own another black car again. It looks good for 5 mintues after it has been washed. Total PITA to keep up. Door dings are also more noticaeable than a lighter colored car.
