Wood -> Aluminum Trim

I got the part numbers for the complete brushed aluminum trim kit. Looks like Tishcer has the best price plus free ground shipping.

51456982455 - Drivers Side Dash
51456982457 - Passengers Side Dash
51416982471 - LF Door
51416982472 - RF Door
51426982473 - LR Door
51426982474 - RR Door
51166982446 - Center Console and Ashtray

I have a very important question!

Do I need to order pins and bolts too? Or do I just recycle them from my current burl wood trim?

Please order the pins and bolts since the construction of the wood trim is different from the aluminum trim. The bolt and pins cannot be detached from the wood trim

Do you know how many I need to order? Any part numbers?
I searched for an hour and couldn't find the answer.
Thanks!

LOL, I think he means "The bolt and pins ARE NOT SUPOSED TO be detached from the wood trim"

I didn’t realize this until I had snapped one off, then realized it wouldn’t fit at all. It was Sunday though and the dealership wasn’t open, so since I had already chipped the ashtray cover I said screw it, and continued snapping off the wood trim pins. Then I spent a few hours grinding them all down to fit. The only issue I had with this method was I still needed to spend the $7 at the dealership for the pins to hold the dash trim on. If I remember correctly you need 24 pins for the 4 doors (E90) and 10 for the dash (they are different), just tell the parts department what you are doing and they will be able to look it up to be certain though.

I blame Bavdom for not including the parts or instructions

not hard, start on the leading edge with a putty knife or some other prying tool and they pop off with s little tug.

Since I just purchased my first BMW (330Ci Convertible), please pardon my ignorance.

But, I actually want to replace my graphite interior trim with a wood trim but am unable to find anyplace to get it. I assume that my model is an E46. Again, pardon my ignorance.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

I'm looking into buying a used 3-Series but I don't like the wood trim and I'd love to swap it for alumninum. You said it can be bought from Tischer. Is it a dealer, a website?

Do you know other places where to find the aluminum kit?

Thanks!
