Need help on a front grill idea!
so i have this idea. instead of spending a lot of money to get my lower grills painted..... i think i might get some gloss spray paint and try that?
whatcha think?

could work. i thought about it too, but i am worried about rock chips, so i just ordered the black matte plastic ones.

I did the DIY. I used Matt black paint made for plastic.
Cost me 5 bucks. If it chips just repaint that area. I've had mine painted for over 5,000 miles including highway, and no rock chips at all. The DIY: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...62&postcount=7

No prepping needed. Just wipe it down clean and paint away.

Just a tip:
-Use painters tape to mask off the bumper so you don't get paint on it. -DO NOT SPRAY THE PAINT DIRECTLY TO THE GRILLS, Dab the paint on.

I did this yesterday. It took me about 45 minutes most of which was spent carefully taping and using a detail brush to paint the inside edge of each little diamond where the paint didn't get as I dabbed it on.
I really like the results and it cost less than $10 for the paint, tape and detail brush. Steve |
