Hey guys, I have a 2008 328xi. I understand that it has the TMPS on the wheels. I have been looking to buy a set of 162's or 159's. Now if I wanted to put the TPMS on the new wheels, can I just take them off my old 16" wheels? Or do I have to buy new ones (the guy at my local garage said that the TPMS sensors only work on the wheel size they came with, for instance another 16" wheel) Also, If I were to buy new TPMS, do they need to be reprgrammed for my car?? Or do I just throw em on, reset, and go?
Thanks in adavance for all your help ![]() |

I am not aware of different sized TPMS for the OEM BMW ones.

You can reuse the ones on your current wheels however this requires dismounting the tires from your stock wheels, taking out the sensors, installing them on the new wheels and remounting both sets of tires.
