Front Lip Question...
I ordered the OEM front lip and was wondering what tape everyone used for theirs. Is the 3M or Betalink better? I am leasing so I don't know what they will say when i return the car. I have heard that as long as it is OEM they won't mind. Any advice would be great! Thanks!!

Does anyone know if the inside of the lip makes full contact with the actual bumper or is there some clearance?
The inside of the lip is not the smoothest/softest of surfaces. So once its bolted and taped on, will its inside surface make contact with the bumper and ultimately cause scratches? Like if I wanted to take the lip off sometime in the future, and go with a stock look i'd like to know there would be scratches or marks from it.... ![]() hope my question makes sense... |

Although I dont have the OEM (I have a Hartage knockoff). I used 3M tape to secure it for the betalink setup and then 2 screws underneath into the lip/bumper (winter saftey). This baby aint going anywhere.

hahaha..i think as long as you have the 3m tape and the 2 screws as he stated above you're set!

I have a ventureshield clear bra on my car. I put the aero lip on over the clear bra so when I sell my car I can take the lip off. The problem I am having is the 3m tape doesn't
want to stick to the bra. Any ideas? I have betalink but I don't wanna use it for removal purposes. Another thing is how much tape are you guys using?? |

hmm...as precaution to avoid scratches from the aero lip, would it be a good idea to perhaps use painters tape over the area that the lip would contact? Any ideas whether painters tape on clear coat could be damaging in the long term?

I used the 3m tape (from the local auto parts shop) as well to install my Aero Lip. This keeps it secure, but yet, it makes it easy to remove it if you ever damage it (like hitting a curb like i did!
).When i did remove it, there were no markings on the bumper where the aero lip was. So I dont think you need to worry about scratching whats underneath it. As far as how much tape to use, if you look at the underside of the lip, there are some recesses for the tape placement. Just follow those recesses and you'll be fine. Good luck! ![]() |

Does the 3m create a tight seal on the aero lip? My concern is if dirt gets trapped between the aero lip and the original bumper, due to the thickess of the tape.
