However my brother just purchased a Passport 9500i and I have to say it is much better at screening out false alarms. Most of the time I drive around with my V1 in full logic mode and it still goes off at pratically all of the shopping centers and other leaky radar detectors. I find it a nuissance and ignore it most of the time. Its a shame but I think the V1 has been trumped by the Passport 9500i. I used the Passport for four days straight in the Chicago area with no false alarms. It may not have the arrows but at least you will pay attention to it when it goes off. |

I am a new owner of a V1 and like its sensitivity. Mike Valentine's approach is "Situational Awareness" and I think it's a good approach, if not everybodys. I am going to program mine to mute K-band under 4 bars, which should help on door false alarms. If I didn't drive in NJ so often I'd turn off POP and X-band too... But whatever.
I haven't heard anything bad about the Passport, but I did hear that the GPS 'false alarm lockout' can screw you if a cop is hiding in a parking lot near a grocery store. Don't buy a Cobra, they are a waste of money.
