Smile New 335ci in Sydney

Well it's finally arrived and I'm one very happy camper! Rides even nicer than I remember from the test drive even with the 19inch rims and run flats.
Other options:
Comfort Access (worth every cent - i love it!)
Rear Blind (I'll use it in summer?)
USB (I don't own an ipod but the thumbdrive is just as good don't know why you need the 6 stacker in the boot??)
Sunroof (It's rained all this week - Summer?)

I'll post picks as soon as I work out how

Congrats David!!! I know how you feel mate. What i recommend is driving a lot and getting the 2000 Kms done so you can have the pleasure of breaking her in afterwards. I am totally enjoying the higher revs in first gear atm around Chatswood where there is 40-50km speed zones, the car sounds like a Ferrari towards 6k rpm

First 2000kms?

Manual doesn't say much about running in except vary speed in first 1000kms I think.

Any suggestions?

Beautiful, congratulations and I hope the run-in period goes by fast for you.

I love space grey, I wish they would offer it on the sedans...

It is in the manual, it basically suggests that you stay below 4.5k rpm for the first 2000kms. I did it but i had one or two spurts to 7k rpm mainly because its near impossible to stay below 4.5k rpm when you want to have a quick fang to a 100km/h from the lights. GOODLUCK!

Keep under 4500rpm. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm -- Too Late!

I've only planted it a few times up to 6500 I'll be a little more careful though

When should I be looking to take it back to BMW for first service?

I don't do many Kms selling my 320ci 2003 model with only 42000ks

Do I take it back after 2000 ks to check it?

looks great, congrats! have you considered getting the Split Second Turbo Tuner? I had considered trading the 335 in for a 135 until I installed this chip!

From memory they do a post run-in check up around 2,000kms and your first full service is around 20,000 kms. However if your only doing say 10,000kms or so per year, i'd reccomend getting the car serviced every 18months or so anyway.

BMW will charge you a fortune.

Suggest you buy a filter from them and have a non-dealer do a break in oil change.

If you intend to drive the car hard or put a tune on it then I'd recommend 5000km oil changes.

Happy motoring.

I personally think 20,000kms is far too long between services, I go every 10,000

I always made sure I had a service and change oil every 12-18mths. I know BMW is a little more expensive for service but really for a $120,000 car a few extra hundred is a good investment to be able to say always sevriced by the dealer at resale time.

Lol, yes i dare say the step up from a 320ci to a 335i is quite a pleasant move up in the power stakes!

after a while you notice the subtle turbo lag with the stock car, particularly in SD mode. Put this chip in and it seems to eliminate the lag plus gives noticeable increase in torque which is particularly evident in all gears especially 3rd! Plus with strong $AUD can be landed here incl postage for $650 AUD!

SSTT is not a chip. All it does is plug into the TMAP sensor and from memory changes the IAT signal going to the ECU, thus causing the ECU to induce more boost. There are many threads so is your friend.

IMHO changing a single parameter on such a complicated car is not the best way to get a tune.

FYI progman 29.2 & the latest version of ECU may be able to pick up on the tune, due to fuel trims being out of whack. Roumor has it the ECU logs a code that is sent via fasta data to BMW AG (not seen by the dealer).

Beware of your warranty as a result.
