BMW Win in F1

First win for the team. They have been pushing for it all year and I had Kubica at 8/1 for the win. Top bloke and there will be plenty more where that came from.

The head honchos in Munich must be running around like a dog with two dicks tonight. Spend a fortune on Efficient Dynamics cars, spend a fortune on media campaign to support said cars, spend a fortune on a F1 team etc. etc.

Then in one weekend you not just get a win, but a second as well then your race winner also gets to lead the championship

Watch out for the media guys to get to work on that one

It was bad driving by the kid. He was on the side behind Kubica and last second when he realised he was not going to stop went left straight in the back of the Ferrari. (Just pleased he did not ram Kubica to be honest as he would have recked my bet).

In the old days that would have been a punch up for sure. Nowadays they don't give a monkeys as long as the pay check comes in and they both seemed pleased to get an early shower and jump in the private jet home.

That sucks. F1 rules and politics never cease to amaze me sometimes. Its the conspiracy against Mclaren and Mr Dennis. Mclaren get $100m fine for bringing the sport into disrepute last year but Max Mosley isn't and keeps his job.....go figure????

How the hell did he manage that though?

I would have thought an F1 would stop pretty quickly from 50mph (pit lane speed limit), but Hamilton just drove straight into the back of a parked car?????

Very different situations mate, Kimi lost control on the race track and ran into some one. Not through carelessness.

Hamilton made a cock up and deserves the 10 place pentalty. What if for instance one had stalled and decided they would get out. would be injured by falling out because hamilton was not concentrating.

I dont agree at all. They aint all about the pay cheque, Nor is Kubica. Money is good but a racer deep down is a racer. They were both deeply pissed about it.

Kimi was severely pissed. Not just on the vodka but about the situation also.

Was a good win for Kubica, its been coming a while. Ive said all along he is a more natural talent than Lewis, HE IS a better racing driver. Having seen them both grow up in motorsport. Hope BMW keep working hard and he can win another this year.

so was kimi m8 he was looking at his watch last time, that was careless too in my book he had plenty of time to stop, lewis was looking at other drivers coming out the pits, i cant see why a 10 place drop its so wrong

sorry mate, coming out of a tunnel at 180mph and for the back end to step out both ways and the fooker caught it and the fact he ran into someone was mistake, the very day before coulthard had the same type of ''moment'' but actually stacked it immediately into the barriers. kimi caught it both ways. Ran out of road no way did he have ''plenty of time to stop''

Lewis' crash takes the piss.... 45mph and still couldnt stop.

I think you are right Carl. There isn't really any excuse for someone not looking where they are going in the pit lane, especially when you are about to enter the track. At that speed he could have stopped almost instantly and he clearly wasn't paying any attention at all.

I know, was pretty silly in my eyes. A pointless and stupid accident which eliminated the top two in the points.

I think he would have had an accident if this had not happened in the pits. He would have over reacted to losing two places in the pits and come off with either Kubica or Kimi on the track.

Riccardo Paletti died at this track and the start of the 1982 GP when he ran into the back of poleman Pironi after he stalled. Estimated impact speed with the stationary Ferrari was over 100mph. The impact smashed poor Riccardo to bits.

Thats not really comparable to Lewis doofus moment as Riccardo was at the back of the grid and unsighted as a car in front of him jerked out of the way at the last minute. He had no where to go. At 100mph + an indident like this was always going to be horrendous.

Lewis' mistake took himself and an innocent Raikonnen, but at least no one was injured.

Just a bit mate. Having grown up racing myself and in motorsport circles. Been to many GP's, met lots of drivers. Even had ron dennis tell me off LOL.

I was in the Gulf Maclaren F1 teams pit garage at a race in Monza in 1995. That for me even now is more amazing to look back at than being there at the time at 11 years old.

Went to nearly every BTCC round in 1994 when my dad sponsored the winning alfas tha year.
