Ipod my 335xi Coupe

I recently ordered a 335xi Coupe but didn't purchase the Ipod and USB Adapter option. My understanding is that this is factory installed, but the Ipod Interface Adapter isn't? What is the difference between these two options/accessories and is there anyway to purchase them after production?

only thing that comes standard is an AUX port, that you can plug your ipod into. you will have no control over your ipod, except for volume control.

with the ipod adapater ($400) you have full control over your ipod, and it displays very nicely if you opted for Navi! without Navi, ipod dispaly is in the radio display, but i can't comment on that as I have Navi + ipod. worth every penny!

The aftermarket one installs into the glovebox, and replaces the cd changer input. Not that anyone has cd changers anymore, just be aware.

There's also an aftermarket one from mObridge. I dont know how good or bad it is, just that it exists here: http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...oducts_id=1651

Still trying to figure out the difference between the factory installed ipod adapter and the dealer installed ipod interface adapter. Does anyone know?

Thanks.

yes... if you opt for the 400$ ipod interface (factory installed) you will have a USB in the center that will also work with memory sticks and breaks up your ipod by artist, genre, play list ETC. via the different number CD's. (CD1 artists CD2 genre CD3 playlist ETC) The dealer installed kit is in the glove compartment that ONLY works with ipod and i believe it doesn't break ur ipod up into those categories but allows you to flip through your library either by radio head or Idrive.
