RoadKillRob - very well done. If I understand right, the wheel is the only part needed - airbag, cover, buttons, etc are interchangeable? (I have auto/sport e90)

The parts that you mentioned can all be recycled to the M wheel.

Question for OP: Did you get the DCT wheel or the regular M3 wheel before you modified it?

I just bought the perforated M-Tech wheel with no shifter cutouts (Which I happen to like a little better than the tri-stitched M wheel)

But I have the sport package installed and according to my mechanic if I install a wheel with no shifters I will get a transmission fault...

Does anyone know where I can get a perforated MTech wheel WITH shifter cutouts? I'm willing to sell mine without cutouts to get the proper one, not sure I feel comfortable doing this mod

This is the wheel I just bought fyi
