Brembo 355mm 6-piston clearance

I'm interested in getting a set of Brembo 355mm 6-piston brakes and am not positive it they'll clear my wheels. I went on several websites including Brembo and found different measurements. Brembo said the overall radius is 200mm (7.897") for the 4-piston 355mm big brake kit, but they don't have the six piston calipers listed at all ("A" dimension on their caliper clearance guide for 4-piston is 24mm or a little less than 1").

I have 18" Advan RS wheels. I'm pretty sure there is enough clearance for this brake package, but I want to be sure.

Does anyone have all the caliper clearance dimensions for the 6-piston 355mm big brake kit?

He's probably right it would be extremely snug if it works but you might need a 5mm spacer (mostly due to the 6 piston size and I am not sure about the width and concavity of the advan rs's).

Hi Ron,
I have a template from Brembo, but they don't have the 6-piston listed for the 355mm rotors (only the 380mm).

That being said, it seems that the "A" dimension from Brembo's Caliper Clearance Guide is the same for 4 or 6 piston at 24mm. If that is correct, I have plenty of room on these rims - about 1" more than is required. The "B" dimension I was using is 122mm from the Brembo Caliper Clearance Guide.

I used the "C" radius of 200mm from the 4-piston 355mm Caliper Clearance Guide, which is 7.875". My clearance is 8.25" or a difference of 3/8".

Would you confirm the dimensions I'm using are correct?

Thanks,
Rob

Hey Rob,

I send you the exact template you need, earlier today, just give me a call or email me back if you need any more help with it.

Hopefully you can get some new Brembo's

If the kit part number is 1M1.8010A or 1M2.8010A

Where A = 13mm, B = 122mm, C = 210mm

18's are a little bit of a squeeze but you can do it. I don't know the concave of the Advan's, but with a 5mm spacer, you should be golden.

Let us know if you have any other questions. We have quite a history with Brembo - after all, the 380mm 6 piston sitting in our showroom right now is... well... for my personal car

No spacer is going to enlarge my barrel. I have 209.5mm clearance for the "C" dimension and the Brembo 6-piston's are 210mm. It's not going to work.
The caliper clearance for the spokes is not an issue at all (the only thing a spacer will help). No spacer will be needed for these wheels.

Check out my other thread for big brake kits. I've compiled a ton of information on many different big brake kits to help everyone out.

I'm not sure that your setup will fit to be honest.

I have a different setup and it barely clears my barrel.

I'm running a 380mm 6pot brembo kit and run 19's. The front barely has any clearance...and i mean VERY little. Even tho you're gonna run a rotor that's 1inch smaller, the caliper is freakin huge!

ahh you're right, if you only have 209.5 it's not going to happen. We've done these brakes on 18's but you need much more room than that. I figured you had at least 215mm

That is the issue, the 6-piston calipers are HUGE!

Stoptechs have a much lower profile for their 6-piston caliper.

You car looks SICK! You need a side shot so we can get a better look at those pie plates you call brakes!

I love Brembo. The wheels, the body kits... they all make cars look nice. But nothing says "attention to detail" like a $7,000 set of brakes. Kudos to you Evo. Same ones going on our project car when it gets here!

Yup we gotta bump up your thread from earlier this week AW325xi - great compilation - I'll send you other ones like AP racing as well if needed. But the putting on a 6 piston on an 18 is generally a very tough feat plus the spoke design is very important.
