1 - I guess 2006 version 2. I am not sure now but will check tonight.
2 - I don't think the new BMW iPod interface is out. The old version will not work if you have a Navigation system. I am not sure about it, but I did see something in the glove compartment.
3- My dealer does not take personal checks incl. checks from credit card company. My check was a bank certified one. Is your CU check printed by the CU, or it is just a blank check. Make sure the correct form the dealer takes. Also you have to provide the lienholder/CU's address, if it is required by CU. I charged $5,000 to my Amex card to get reward points. Most places take up to $2,500.
4 - It has a flashlight built in the glove comp., but I didn't manage to take it out. I didn't know how, and I had too many things to "play" with at the time I tried.
5 - It has a standard toolkit on the right side of the trunk. Make sure it is there.

First, thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. very helpful.
1) I read that 2006.2 is the latest. so, I will request that.
2) Ipod should work with the AUX plug in the center console. I will bring a
cd just in case. I did not get sirius.
3) I just sent a message to my CA to double check on this. I have a check
printed by the CU to the dealer and my name. and I will bring a personal
check to pay the down payment.
4 and 5) I'll check on those 2 items. At least now I know I should get them.

thanks again and don't expect posts from me tomorrow. hehe.

Did you sleep?

Good luck ... BTW, check the back of the nav dvd case, there is a code at the bottom something like ...602. I think it is version 2.

Since I was taking today off, I did a lot of work yesterday so I did sleep...
but I did wake up around 4:30

This car is intoxicating!

it was a very nice experience.
my CA went to the metro station to pick me up.
when we got to the dealer, he had all the paperwork ready.
Finance guy took 10 minutes to get rid of me. (I was glad)
Then my CA was waiting for me and handed me the first keyfob.
he went thru the manual and other bmw books.
He also gave me the brochure for the 7series. I still don't know why.
anyway, we went outside and there it was.
Love at first sight.
There was one of the detail guys next to the car and I was asked to
go around the car looking for anything I did not like.
detail guy behind me and cleaning where I saw something.
Once I was ok. detail guy dissapeared.
then we looked at the engine.
next at the trunk. he showed me where the tool kit was and how to get
to the battery.
Next, we got in and he went over the main features.
hand shake, a request from him to give him 5 on the survey, and that was it.

The car is great. way beyond my expectations.
so smooth, so quiet, so nice...

On the other hand, I can see I'll spend every weekend cleaning it.
1) the car is Monaco blue. by the time I got home, the car was covered in
pollen and dust. and you can see that!!! it is very very noticeable.

2) brake dust. when I got the car, the 162 rims were so clean.
when I got home, they were very dirty.

So, I spent sometime today cleaning.

I also got the windows tinted today. the car looks so much better with the tint. I'll post pics on friday.
I'm so tired with all this excitement and cleaning job. hehe.

Oh about the nav dvd. I got 2006.2 which is the latest.

I finally got mine

I was also on the Liberty as I had previously mentioned.
Finally took the delivery of the car.
I was an awesome experience.

I got a 300xi with Black-Sapphire Metallic with Terra interiors and Aluminium trims. It looks pretty cool.

Will try and post pics by thsi weekend.

Good Luck to the others waiting to get into their dream machine :rocks:

Congrats!!! We are all in love. I am going to tint the windows. FrankcoQ: How is the spoiler? I wonder if I can install it myself. I didn't get the same treament. I never saw any detailing guy. My car is Graphite so it does not look very dusty even after a trip to MD.

Chicagolab: Muchas gracias. El carro es fantastico.
(translation for the non spanish speaking: thanks a lot. it's a fantastic car.)
I love the blue color. At first, I wanted to get silver but the good wife
suggested to go with blue. But as I stated before, I'll be spending a lot
of time trying to keep it clean.

U-Wanna-TSB: Congratulations to you too.

Nanpenyo: about the spoiler. It's very nice and gives the car a more
sporty look without looking too much like a race car.
it really changes the look of the back of the car.
When I first saw pics of it, I thought it was so small that no one would
notice it. but once I looked at one I inmediately decided to get it.
to me, it is the perfect size. if you look at others like ACS, they stick out
too much for my taste.
But I'd advice to research this forum before trying yourself.
read or PM the people who have done it to get a feeling of what you will be
up againt.
I honestly did not feel up for the challenge and I do not regret it.
I look at my spoiler and I can see that even the dealer did not do a good job.
1) the ends (on either side of the trunk) did not glue well and there is a small
gap. very hard to see but I see it! still debating if I should take it back.
2) there is white stuff on one end where the spoiler contacts the trunk. I guess its the glue. You kind of have to kneel to see it.

and about the tint... I went with 35% and having black interior, it is perfect!
From the outside looks very dark, from the inside looks just fine.
If you have the gray or beige interior, maybe go a little darker on the tint.

my 2 cents.

Buenas. I searched the forum and found out that the metallic tinting on the back window may affect the navigation system and/or the radio. Also the tint may affect the remote control. What kind of material is your? What is your experience?

To be honest, I don't know if my tint is metallic.
But I did have that concern before and did not find anyone with that
problem.
Also, I got the car tinted at a place where another 330i owner took it.

He has nav and CA and has had the tint for more than 2 weeks.
He reports no problems.

After the tint, I set my home address and the nav worked fine taking me
home. I felt it was very accurate showing where I was on the map.
I do not have CA.
I do not have sirius and I did not test the standard radio.
Finally, as I understand, the shark fin on the roof is where the antennas
are for nav and sirius.

Yes. they are a little pain to do.
Look in the DIY section. I followed those instructions.
it's a pain because I decided not to remove any of the wheels.
that worked for both front mud flaps and the rear right.
it helps if you turn the wheels all the way to one side. it gives you more room.
rear left you MUST jack up the car. ideally you remove the wheel but
once the car is jacked up, there is room to work.
The rear left has an additional bracket that is a bit of a pain to install.

I spent about 2 hours in this job.

I called dealer yesterday, my CA said my car is on a truck and expected to arrive Mon or Tues.. (Owners circle says car is at VPC, and phone line says in transit, but neither have proven accurate.) My dealer thinks Tuesday or Wed. should be ready for pick up (Wed. is my CA's day off, not sure if I want to pick it up without my CA there). I really started relaxingbecause I know it will be soon. The uncertainty was killing me. I have heard some Euro deliveries taking up to 8 weeks to arrive at dealer, so when I was told it is booked on a truck , I was relaxed and I know the end of the wait is near. I guess my anticipation is a little different than non-Euro delivery cars because I already have driven it and admired it in person. But, that makes me know exactly what I'm missing , especially now as I am driving a borrowed mimivan while my Volvo is in final repairs before I sell it. I definately will post pics once I get my car. I want to do a Zaino detail on the car within a few weeks of getting it, definately will take pics then, but never done a Zaino treatment before, so hope I get it right. ..........Sopranos will get me through tonight's wait

Chicagolab, Good luck and hope you get your ride soon.
My CA came to the dealer on his day off so I could get my car asap.
But I'm sure it was more to help the dealer's May sales report.
Let us know your zaino experience, I want to do that too.

Nanpenyo, where are the pics of yours?
