Tank Leakage Diagnostic Module (DM-TL) Malfunction

Hi all,

I have a 335i xDrive 2009, 35,000KM

I recently got a check engine light. I read the codes and got the following error information (Got 3 errors):

For those speaking german, here's a link to the original scanner output

I would like your opinions, if you agree or not, and what shouldl I do.

1. Replace leak diagnostic pump (Bosch)
2. New blue gas cap for safe measure

Do you think the fuel consumption is affected by these errors ?

Any help or advices appreciated in regards to my next actions.

Thanks guys!

check your fuses. I was working on rewiring my dashcamera setup and I unplugged the fuse tab but didn't notice what fuse it was connected to, so I placed it in fuse 16 where it should have been fuse 17.
This is on my 2011 328i. I didn't notice anything initially, but then I went for a drive and noticed the yellow engine light. It didn't even give me a sound, just the light was on.

I scanned it and gave me the same if not very similar errors as yours, I knew I have done something wrong in the fuse box, checked if any was burnt and they were fine, then I did a quick Google search and sure enough, it confirmed my suspicion that i placed the fuse in the wrong slot.
Moved it from 16 to 17 and the errors went away.

A note: fuse 16 and 17 are part of the engine/DME fuses and they stay on for ~ 45 minutes. That's why I tapped it so that my dash camera would stay in parking mode for a bit after I lock the car.

Only 35000km wow

Mine has a code 2a17 dmtl but no CEL. Evap emissions monitor is also ready, so not bothering w the code.
But dmtl pump can be replaced and gas cap is not a bad idea either. I may replace miy cap again.

Did you replace the little rubber grommet when you did the DMTL pump?

I had a DMTL pump error, changed the pump and then got a code for a super fine leak. New grommet fixed it, but not before I’d wasted money on a new purge valve…
