I have the iphone but I don't rely on it for work.
I just need it to sync my calendar and I can read my work email from it.

I went with the iphone more for the fun features.

To set up a person in the BMW Voice Activation without Idrive. All you need to do is hit the voice dial button on the steering wheel and say "Save Name", and it will prompt you for the name. Then is will ask you for the number, which I suggest you say the Area Code first, and let it repeat it back. Then do the rest of the number, and when you're done say "Save".

choopy, I'm glad to see that you have a red interior; it may hide the blood that will coat the inside of your car when you go off the road upside-down playing with your toys instead of driving. Try not to kill any innocents.

(I try not to be "holier-than-thou", but this is too far over the top.)
