Rennart Exhaust System Review

Hey guys!
I finally got to install my Rennart non-resonated cat-back exhaust today I got this exhaust during the group buy for a great deal and never got to install it until today.

I had the exhaust installed at a shop in Burlington, MA, the shop is called Unique Custom Exhaust & Performance. I really recommend this shop as the guys over there where really nice and they knew what they were doing. Installing it took 1.5hrs and the guys over there didn't have any problems at all with the fitment nor did they need to do any amendments to make it look perfect. The only thing I advice you guys to make sure of when installing this exhaust is to make sure the clamps are tightened pretty well and correctly on the pipes since the pipes don't go into each other when putting the whole exhaust together. You have to align the pipes side by side and hold them together with the clamps. If the guy working on your car isn't professional or atleast good at this you will have leaking issues. So be careful.
Other than that like I said, the install was a breeze and fitment was perfect.

Before having the exhaust installed I spent some time looking at the exhaust's quality and finishing. It looked well built and you will be able to see that as soon as you touch and see the pipes and welding. The polished finishing is also really nice. Another thing I noticed was it's weight. I had to carry the exhaust myself from my place and load it in my friends truck and I also did load my stock exhaust back in his truck and the weight difference was obvious and significant. I am not sure how much lighter the Rennart Exhaust is but it is a lot lighter.

After having the exhaust installed and started up the car, I realized that the car has a throatier note now when its idling which I honestly loved. And when revving you can see that the exhaust now has a deeper and throatier tone upto 4000rpm and then it sounds more like stock again in the higher rpms but slightly louder. It was honestly just perfect. Just how I wanted my exhaust to be. I then took the car for a drive and did a couple of pulls in different gears and different rolling speeds to get a good feeling on how the exhaust sounds like in different scenarios. And I just loved it, except for one thing. I noticed that in 6th gear while cruising on the highway at exactly 2000rpm that thing just drones. My friends who were with me said that they thought it was completely normal to have that much drone for an aftermarket exhaust and they actually liked it but I guess it's not my thing. But if I keep it in 5th gear the drone just goes away which is what I did on the way back because it started pissing me off. I then tested exactly the range where the car drones and it was between 1600-2400rpm. So just so that anyone who's planning to get the non-resonated version, that's when the exhaust will drone.

Overall though, I'm very happy with the quality and sound of the exhaust and think that it was a bargain for the price I got the exhaust for. One last thing I'd like to mention and I'd say it would be why you guys should get this exhaust if you were planning to buy a cat-back, is Rennart's customer service and support, especially Joe. I was able to reach them every time I needed to ask about anything and Joe was always happy to answer any questions and concerns I had. Even when I told him about the droning issue he offered to trade with me for the resonated pipes without me having to pay an extra penny!!! Who ever did such things other than BMS and now Rennart?

This is a link to a quick video I just made, not great quality, but good for now until I get some time to record one with a proper camcorder
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...20697119&hl=en

Hope this review was helpful and feel free to post your comments and feedback.

I will update you guys if the sound of the exhaust changes and if the droning goes after 1-2weeks when the mufflers get heated up properly.

Sounds badass, can't wait to get mine installed. I am still waiting on my second box to come in. I got the resonated version though.

Congrats on your exhaust and if you think that on this video it sounds good, you should hear it in person and then tell me what you think This video isn't really the best. It really does sound so much better in person!

How was sound to you? Louder side? quieter side?

get the resonators, kills the drone. also, I don't care what anyone says, the only way to *really* kill drone is with mid pipe resonators. the drone comes from the long runs of straight pipe resonating. the factory system has secondary cats in the mid pipes which effectively do the same thing as resonators (and those harmonic dampers...)

Yeah I got the intercooler installed as well and the car now even without JB3 feels more powerful than stock. If I would guess from the butt dyno how much the gain is from the helix intercooler and exhaust, I'd say 20-25rwhp. I'm installing the AFE intake tonight and the oil cooler installed tomorrow at the same shop.
I'm also going to dyno the car on Saturday if you want to come. the dyno will be without the JB3 to see how much I gained from those mods only (I already have a stock dyno). Then I will install the JB3 and dyno again on Monday! Hoping for 385rwhp with all my mods

It's quieter than other exhaust available, but that was the reason I bought the exhaust. It's not loud but sounds nicer and throatier than the stock exhaust.

I'm going to wait for some time and see how it will sound like after settling.

Are there any aftermarket resonators that would help ??

Why is the driver side piping, before the mufflers so much lower than the other side...I tend to like thing even and that would annoy me alittle! It just doesn't look uniform at all and that alone would not make me buy it for that reason!

Yeah but I can't understand why one of the piping is so significantly lower than the other side...I am speaking of the driver side piping....Was it installed wrong or design flaw??
