Custom Iphone Mount

I was always looking for a place to put my iphone so i put this charges it and plays music thought my aux port in my center console

So what i did here was traced the frame of the dock and then cut it out with a razor blad and then centered it

Then when i went to the store to buy the 3g dock holder it came with 3 of them for 9 bucks so i had 2 to spare so i cut the frame off one of them and traced it thats why you see the white line in the picture above

Then i started the cut with a rotozip and hope for the best

After i cut the hole i cleaned it up with a sander tool and dropped it in with some gorilla glue and clamped it down and waited 5 hours for a nice tight fit

Now for this piece when i went to the apple store i picked up a 3g dock see here http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB...OQ&mco=MTQ2MjA
its like this but without a remote

You have to glue this to the bottom of the dock and then when you put the idrive controller back on it holds it very tight

Here is the finished product i dont have the iphone in there cuz thats what im using to take the pictures if you have any ????? write me and i will help you

And this is my ride tell me what you think

you should paint it brown (or black) to match your console

Very innovative... too bad it would get in the way of shifting for manual cars.

i think what you shouldve done was somehow put the white iphone holder under the dash, so that way itll just be a hole in the dash that your iphone fits into, and nothing is poping out, and you can also put a cover when not using.

I'm not sure if a lot of people here are comfortable with dremeling their center trim. However, I did a similar setup by putting the dock in the ash tray instead.
