Does the remap affect the warranty and bump up the insurance?

I assume the wear on the clutch and tyres would be more!

Clutch/tyres - I'm just working on the basis that it must effect them due to the additional torque - but it does actually depend on how you drive it of course

What im saying is it wont wear any worse if you drive pretty sensibly.

Every time I read one of these threads it hacks me off that a 330d can be remapped to more power than a 330i.

It's not just diesels Carl, it's the fact that any cars with forced induction seem to be capable of achieving very easy performance gains with remaps.

It would be nice to be able to spend £450 and get 300hp out of my 330i

Still prefer my car to a diesel though

Me too mate.

The ONLY thing bugging me at the moment is that my car is due a service in February (okay, I know it`s nearly 4 months away), and I want to take it to a BMW dealer to have it done. My concern is that they`ll update the bloody software, or something, and wipe the map.

I know that some will say "Just go back and get it done again" etc.........but it`s a long way to go back to Evolve for me !

No need to tell me mate, i already know, why do you think i love F/I so much.

But it is about the diesles now, having ones pumping out 286bhp stock and mapping to over 340, now thats impressive.

I prefer the sound of yours for sure.

I miss a hearty sounding engine. I LOVE The sound of the BMW V10.

Agreed on the diesels. They are very impressive in stock form, but the remapping potential is ridiculous.

Very annoying though.

I must admit I wanteed the 330i E93 for the noise but the 330d had more long term potential, I do miss the sound of the 330i though
