Finally got myself a PC

Bought a Porter-Cable 7336 at Lowes today for $110. Thanks to DavidN for replying to all my PMs. My pads should be here tomorrow. Do I use this wrench to remove the black back plate? Also, the white polish attachment is useless, right?

They gave me a spacer, do I need to use it when I attach my new backing plate?

I do not use the spacer on mine but you will have to see how the backing plate you ordered fits. I'd rather have the extra threads threaded. The white pad can be used to polish things other than your car, I actually polished my riding mower with it for fun...

No problem my friend, anytime!

Yes, you will need to use the wrench to tighten the backing plate and to remove it. You won't actually be turning the wrench, you will just use it to hold the bolt that the backing plate screws into while you actually screw/unscrew the backing plate.

As for the white pad that comes with the PC, don't use it. It is low quality.

And the spacer is actually used on the handle, not the backing plate. I've heard from some people who didn't use it that their handle cracked after a few uses.

Oh. I already turned it on once without using it.

My PC is sitting in the garage waiting for me to get off my lazy ass and do some detailing. I bought some blue pads to use.

I don't use the handle. I find it easier to control and adjust pressure on the pad if I place my hand over the top of the PC. Try both ways and see what works best for you.

Yeah, I saw this video and the guy doesn't use the handle either. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...8471&q=autopia

I'm guessing that's easier for the vertical panels.

I'm starting to like it better without the handle as well. I find I don't feel the vibrations as much at high speeds.
