European/Can. only options avail. for USA via ED order?
Hey Guys,
I am planning on ordering a 335i (possibly 328i, but most likely a 335i), and several of the options I want don't seem to be available for U.S. buyers. However, I think I've read that there are some options, that while not 'officially' available to American buyers, can be had if you are placing a ED order. I would appreciate it if someone more knowledgeable than myself could tell me if there is a way for my ED order to be accepted with the following options: Anthracite headliner Piano trim (looks like smooth black) Jade Gray leather interior Aluminum trim on bottom portion of steering wheel (that's if I decide to go with aluminum trim) And if at all possible, I would love to know the part numbers so I could help out my SA (don't have one yet) and most importantly the ED invoice cost of each of the above. (Though I already know how much the leather seats cost -- and don't know if Europeans have to pay extra for the 'Piano' trim.) Really can't imagine getting 335i with a mostly black interior that doesn't have the anthracite headliner -- and Jade Gray is my first choice if I choose either Space Gray or Mont. Blue as my exterior colors. Thanks, BimmerDreamerFL |

Sorry, you only get US specs and options for ED cars...no ifs and buts. Its like buying locally, the only difference is the initial pick up location...

Doesn't make any sense - no 'anthracite headliner' for USA even via ED
This is very disappointing news.
Are you absolutely certain that there is no way around this nonsense? I thought I read about someone getting 'Lemon' interior (via ED) as a so-called 'Priority One' option. Though, maybe this was for an E90(?) Really like that Jade Gray and definitely want the anthracite headliner -- without having to do it in some VERY expensive way (i.e., aftermarket). -BimmerDreamerFL |

Lemon Interior is a new priority one option (only one opened up for MY2007) e90/91s (not sure e92). Its a BMW NA sanctioned option not a euro option etc.
P-1 option (sometimes referred to secret options etc) basically is an option that your CA can only order/configure/add on (in the system) for a customer-sold car. That means he is not able to order cars with p-1 option for inventory (I forgot what the priority code is for inventory cars). I know it sucks but that is as mandated by BMW NA...

I would have loved to have ordered cloth interior for my car.... it looked like it would be months of difficulty to make it happen.. I was thinking it would most likely be best to order USA spec and then look into buying parts to modify if it is a possibility... I have to do a search and see if anyone has ever swapped out seats..... ~Frost

I thought that the piano trim was only offered on BMW individual cars?
