DEbagded the car, bUT!!...theres a problem! HELP!!

Ok...so i debadged my car...and i shoudl've done it RIGHT when i got it...but unfortunately its been many months!

I debagded it with the blow dryer technique and floss ( This is one way to do it i was told...)

So... the problem:mad:
I debagded the 325i, and.....theres a sun spot or whatever....you can see it say 325i when your in the light, because the paint around the letters been i nthe sun, so it seems that it is a bit faded from the where the letters were on...you guys see what i mean...?
NOW!!...ANOTHER!!!
As i was taking off the I, i got it off, but theres a this really hard little round peice of plastic.... about 2 mm in diamter. and and below that, is another, what seems to be another peice of plastic on where the I used to be....

I tried Goof off like, goo gone or whatever its called, and i sat there blowing drying my car...and its still on.... I dunno what to do? Should i take it to the body shop???
PLEASE HELP!!! ANYBODY!! it looks ........... weird....

it sounds like you need to polish the area with some non-abrasive polish to aid.

I used an abrasive polish with my PC and it looks dandy. Poorboy's SSR 2.5 with an orange pad, then I followed with 1.0 on the same pad.

You have to order it online at autogeek.net, it's used for polishing the whole car, but I just used it to clear up the badge residue and dull area. You need a porter cable, which you can get at Lowes or something. Check out the detail section for more info.

you can probably use Meguiar's Soft Scrub. I think it works well.

BTW, I did not use Goo Gone, nor do I reccomend people using such harsh chemicals on their ride! I'm not a detail expert by ANY means, but I've used Goo Gone for years, and find it to be pretty strong.

You can just blow dry it, floss, and use a lot of water and a cotton rag to take the 'gum' off.

Go to Pep boys, Autozone, whatever; grab a tube of Megauirs ScratchX. Apply.

Or wait and week and watch it go away on it's own.

agree with the ScratchX since it is used by hand and you do not have a PC, it is a good polish

I removed mine on my black, I could also see the numbers still, I just got some wax I had, waxed it off a few times. I could still see dirt attach to it while driving. In about 2-3 days it was gone on its own.

Thanks Alot for the input guys. unfortunately i had to bring it to the aut body shop and get it wet sanded and painted again, BECAUSE!! there was some glue on there, actual cement like glue so i couldn't get it off. This is so gay too, because when i first got the car, maybe like a couple weeks later the "i" started to peel off, so my father took it to the dealers when I was away, and i guess they decided to glue it...(idiots) ....I took it to another BMW dealership closer to me and told them about it, and THEY would have paid for it, HOWEVER since I....removed it...i had to pay for it, even though THEY kind of messed my shit up...very irritating, so now, i jsut dropped off my car at the auto body shop and gotta pay like, 35 bucks for paint, 40 bucks for body work ( they gotta sand it down) and like another 35 bucks for paint LAbor....AHHH!!! expensive...

but yea, none-the-less thank you guys for your input and such its good to have other peoples opinions and what not. Thanks again

It doesn;t matter what type of glue it is, any adhesive will breakdown when used with the right solvent. Wetsanding, repainting, or even buffing to remove adhesive is like using a canon to shoot a fly. No need...

Oh well.

well the "i" was falling off a couple weeks after i got it, and i should've jsut taken off the 325i then, but my dad saw it and brought it to BMW, and they GLUED it on....and it was lke cement glue. Usually its a double sided form tape, but instead i guess they decided to glue it so it wont fall off... thats why my stuff was all weird, but now its fine
