330XI questions - wheels / suspension

Just ordered a 330xi. Anyone know what the rims look like? The dealer told me it comes with All season tires but couldn't show me a pic of the rims.

Thanks guys.

Thanks!!
Not too bad. Better than the 2002 rims foe the xi.

Is it possible to get the sports suspension with the xi or is all together different when you go that route?

Thanks Jwocky.

Here's the answer to your question re sports suspension with the XI (short answer: no, you can't get a "sports suspension" with the XI).

Also, here's a link to a detailed description on BMW's x-drive technology used in their XI cars.

I'm confused. The '06 can now be ordered with X-Drive?

Yes, the 06 3 series can be orderd with X-Drive. Production on those cars starts either this week or next - so get to your dealer and go order one!

How much more is the X-drive?($2-3k) I would think ordering the regular 325/330i and just getting snow tires/rims would be about the same price and your tires would last longer?

Just my thoughts - I had a 2004 325xi and loved it, so you can't really go wrong.

Is general car handling(cornering) compromised with the x-drive in any way?

from the reaserch i've done - NO.... driving isnt compromised at all. one of my neighbors has been a long time racer and he has always told me that all wheel drive cars do, on average, perform better then regular 2 wheel drive. Of course most of us getting our e90's arent going to be going out racing on Indy tracks, so even if there is a bit of a difference i'd be dammed if anyone notices any difference.
Penn gets enough snow, i'm in CT so i'll be more likely to drive in the snow, so i figured that another 2 month wait wasnt too bad to get the xi.

Price is $1900 more then the base model, ( at least it was when i bought my car). As for what you want to do - its all up to your liking really. i've been saving for like 7 years for this car ( i'm only 22 now) and i plan on having this car for a damn long time, so i figured i'd go all out with this car. What ever you decide to do good luck with it, and its a fun ass car!

Don't forget that the Cold Weather package is also $150 cheaper on the XI version since the headlight washers come standard on the car (not sure why they chose to make that standard on this version)... So the net difference is $1750 between the I and XI cars if you get the cold weather package (which is a necessity considering I live in Buffalo NY )

Can't wait to see what the X-drive does for the handling of the car. I've been driving a 2003 325xi for the last 3 years and also have noticed that it feels a little different than the rear wheel drive version. We will see some time in November...
