Question How long does it take the car to ship to the dealer???

Hi my parents and my uncle order the 325i on 27th of last month and still the car has not arrive yet?? The guy said it was being shipped from Germany and it will only take about a week or so. When i went to order my 335 from a dealer in alhambra, they said it will usually take 6-8 weeks. I think thats the general time it takes to put in a order from dealer and receive it. When i ordered my slk350, they also said it takes 6-8 weeks. i got it in 8

hope this helps

Check my signature below this message for the timetable on my delivery. It was a little faster than average, but not much.

Ask for the production number (although this salesman is so clueless that he probably won't know what that is). Once you have that you can go to the Owner's Circle and find out the status. If it's started production (in Germany) it's very roughly 2 weeks (sometimes longer if there's no shipping ******* until it gets on a ship in Bremerhaven. (However, a 325i might be made in South Africa which adds a lot more time.)

For West Coast deliveries it's about 30 days on the ship from Bremerhaven to Port Hueneme. Then roughly a week (maybe a little less) to go through the VPC and be delivered to the dealer.

But, wait a second. Production on the 328 and 335 sedans was supposed to start 9/1. This means that the last 325 would have been built at least a month ago. I think that you need to get a straight story from this salesman. Maybe he's getting the car from another dealer?

Or maybe you need to get rid of this clueless and/or lying salesman and go to a reputable dealer.

But the car I ordered was already bulided since it was the last production of the 325i discontinued

When you say "ordered" that normally means that you select options and then the car is built. In this case it's a car that was already built and is on the way to this (or another) dealer.

Probably that means it was already on a ship or at the VPC. As I said, get the production number or the VIN and you can find out on the Owners Circle or by calling BMWNA.

Yeah, if the car was already built, it was most likely redirected to your dealer during transport and should be there shortly. If it was built from scratch, you're looking around 7 weeks.

heh, Victor, with 135+ posts to your name, you should know better. There is no way you are going to order a car from Germany and it will be here in 7-10 days. What a huge red flag. If I heard a salesman tell me that, I would run away fast! The sales rep is truly clueless and just saying whatever it takes to get a sale. Im worried to hear what else he may have told you that you believed.

On the plus side, you will get your car, but 4-8 weeks is the normal range. I think 6-8 is closer to the norm, although it seems some can get them in 4. I have another dealer who is telling me 14-16 weeks till I would get my car! Either he presold all his allocations, or for the deal he is making me, he wont put my order in for 2 more months so it will match up with the discounts they will be giving in a couple months, not what they typically do these days.
