Car runs, isnt rusted out or anything, never been restored, though the guy does have a decent amount of money invested into it. I don't need it, but figure it could be good project to shine up and sell or keep.... Is this the steal that I think it is?

yes it is, those cars are LEGENDARY man, you should definitely buy it, maybe you can make 10x the profit what you will pay right now.

assuming blowing 1500 on a car you dont need wont hurt you financially in any way, buy it. not only is that car legendary it also looks like a fun car just to drive around in.

I mean I'm all for preserving originality, but damn, that's supposedly one of the most fun cars to drive. I heard that a recommended mod is upgrading the brakes.

It is a steal if it is drivable and not rusted out. If it is a USA model then replace the bumpers with the '73 or earlier version. I miss my '73 2002.

well it had upgraded brakes already, a bunch of other upgrades too, but its no longer on the market, I was a day too late. Darn.

EDIT: Keep in mind our perspective...most of us guys on these forums spend that much money on rims alone...let alone a car...
