$1000 over invoice?

I'm looking to purchase my first BMW. I'm trying to find the exact car I want used but if I don't, I'm going to bite the bullet and go new. I've read posts on here discussing paying between 1000 and 2000 over invoice. I'd like to hear what you folks have to say about your experiences purchasing BMWs. I know the cars bring a lot at the dealer but what's fair? Can I find a dealer willing to sell a car for invoice plus 1000?

Thanks for your help.

$500-750 over Invoice

I just ordered my first BMW...a 2008 335i. I was able to get offers of between $500 - $750 over invoice, not including their MACO charge. Go to Edmunds, get the invoice price, figure out exactly what you want and then contact the internet sales people of at least a few dealerships and get their "out the door" price with a breakdown of every charge.

1st of all both of you welcome to the forum..... This section is for dealer ratings only! Hopefully, MODS will move this to correct section

I'd reccomend reading and searching the forum since ALL the info that you need is already there.....

We have access to actual BMWNA Pricing in here so there is no need to mess around with Edmunds & etc....

Below link will be a good start:

Since it's 2008 now, and that 335s has become more common on the streets, I believe you have more of a leverage when it comes to bargaining than it was for me others in 2007.

1) I'd recommend call up the Internet sales guys and get firm quotes from multi dealers

2) Bring the invoice pricing sheet in and hand pick the CA that looks to you as a reasonable sales person

3) Go with ED, that might get you the best price

$1000 over invoice is a very good price, that price is usually honored if you go with ED and make an arguement that you're picking up the car in Germany yourself, and that the CA is just doing paperwork.

Talking Great Deal!!!

To get to the point, I just paid $90 over invoice on a new custom ordered 09 328 sedan. This is not a typo, $90! This coupled with the new BMW deal of 0.9% and first 2 months paid by BMW, I saved an extra $1400 (BMW will pay the 1st 2 months payments up to $750 per payment). I got this deal at Fields in Northfield, IL with Broch Gordon.

It's a bit too rich, don't you think?

Is this a car that was on the dealer lot, or a car that was ordered and shipped from Germany? If it's the latter, and since the two-free-payment deal only goes to March 31st, you might have a problem with that deal since (according to my CA) the car has to be delivered at the time the financing is set up.
