I'm not good with wiring either but I bought all the wires required to make the kit. I'm going to take one weekend off to start it.. it's been a project long overdue for me

I've gotten used to it and it's never an issue for me even when shifting a lot. Of course it would be great if it can be made to lock into place so it doesn't twist. |

Just finished the harness which is the hardest part I figure but only took me half an hour after I unpacked everything and studied the diagram for a while. I will be doing the actual install this weekend. It should be relatively simple however fitting all this wiring under the counsel will be a major bizatch considering I also have the RixEffects gauge power wire running through there.
Thanks again! This is a great DIY. ![]() |

Does the M5 knob have the selector button on the back of it? The only photo's I have seen have been the front so Im wondering if you fit it to a steptronic trans what you would push for it to release from park?

How come nobody makes and sells the wiring? Id gladly pay an extra few bucks to not have to try and make it myself.

it's simple, however it takes time to make this wiring.... maybe it's not worth for some to charge few extra bucks for it... ma 5 cents..

well first of all i was missing ONE wire, TWO the green wires as a black cover on them that were IMPOSSIBLE to get off, if its there it wont plug into the power source, we cut all the black plastic off the power was working so not sure if it is JUST because of that one wire missing, but i go a fellow member who is willing to make the harness for me.

I've been studying this DIY for the past 30 minutes! haha. Seems simple enough.
a l l a n -- So the wires do come with pins on them? How did you connect the wires? I don't have access to a soldering iron. thanks in advance and good job with the DIY! |

The bushing/pin contacts I have on this DIY already come with the wires. All you need to do is insert the contacts into the appropriate housing and join/connect the wires per the harness connection instructions. No soldering required. These are small wires so twisting them to join them together is more than enough. This requires a very basic wiring process so you don't need to know much about wiring to do this DIY. |
