I assume from a carrier (external) perspective all looks the same and the only difference is that the ring gear is welded to the carrier on newer cars... and bolted in the older ones?

Crazy they welded it. Never heard of that being done before.

You can't see it from the outside.

Yes, most of the older ones are bolted and newer are welded with the exception of the automatics.

Hi. Do you know if original BMW axle seals are used when building it (or are they generic seals)? Are these in stock ready to ship?

Thanks for any info.

Yes, we can use BMW axle seals upon request with no additional charge.

These are brand(not low mileage) new BMW final drives so it's 7-10 days out from BMW, then another 2-3 days to build.

$1995 with exchange, plus $95 freight to the 48 States!

If not returning a core, the core charge is $500
I'm a bit confused as it states they are built from low mileage final drive units. Is the $1995 plus core exchange for brand new units instead, or low mileage? For a small bolted pumpkin for 07+ AT 335i...

Thanks!

$1995 is for a low mileage exchange unit. New units do not require an exchange or core charge.

If you are after 08/2007, which is a small final drive, all you really need is the Quaife, unless you prefer to have use build it for you as an exchange unit.

Exchange units always have a core charge. If you have an auto, you should purchase a 3.46 ratio unit, NOT 3.08. If you have a 3.08, this is not the correct item thread for you.

You should be looking at:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ghlight=quaife

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ghlight=quaife

You can always buy the unit outright, but you will not get the additional core charge of $500 back.
