Forge DV's are they suppose to be louder than stock?

I was reading on a few forums that aftermarket DV's are only suppose to be a little bit louder than stock. I did notice that the Forge's are noticebly louder (2-3times) than stock, and I can hear the DV's dumping boost when I let off the throttle at all RPM's
For instance if im in 4th at 3000rpm and nudge the throttle 1/5 and then wuickly let off I can hear the DV's making the psst sound

Is this normal? or should they be a lot quieter?

Yellow springs are being used.

I don't see how an AT wouldn't benefit from upgraded DVs

They should definetly be louder than stock. And with an open element intake ,they will most definetly be much louder than the stockers.

Louder for sure, especially when shifting at WOT!

Yeah, no reason it won't help, it's just more critical on the manual cars. Then again, I don't know how the DBW works in these, on my truck the DBW actually closes the throttle quite a bit on shifts, which on a turbo motor would have the same effect as lifting off the throttle quickly in a manual car between shifts.

I don't think they are louder. I think you guys probably have intakes which exagerate every sound.

I think both manual and auto will benefit in terms of reliability. A leaking DV will cause pre-mature turbo failure in the long run. The turbo will spin so many rpm more to make up the boost and fail far sooner. I personally dont view it as a performance add on but a safety feature especially on max boost cars.
