What happened to the Climate section in iDrive

Forgive me if this has already been discussed, but didn't the old iDrive system allow you to change climate settings?

I seem to remember being able to change climate settings on my friends older 7 Series.

Is that gone now?

Thx

I hit the voice command and say "climate" and it takes me to it.

You mean the section that I've never used?

All the other sections in iDrive are useful, but the purposefulness of that one just escapes me....

If you hold down the temp button on the A/C (the big round one that is close to the driver), the HVAC screen will come up. Its pretty useless and doesn't allow any customization.

All you can adjust is the intensity of the auto program. Weak sauce.

Yeah. I was looking for that the other day. I'll try that on the way home. Personally, I do like more air coming from the window portion and less toward my feet. So, it has some usefulness I guess.
