So are the springs meant to be for sport or comfort?

I dont understand all the bitching about the xi then. If eibach or hr springs fit, and m3 parts fit in the rear, why is everybody complaining about the xi handling? I think im gonna get me a set of springs now. How much was the install?

Also I assume that getting eibach springs would be preferable to buying sport "i" springs?

because people buy the xi and expect it to handle like a frigging GT-R
most of the handling problems can be fixed with shocks/springs/sways and tires.
and on top of that you have people (mostly vendors) pumping bullshit in saying that the only way to improve the cars handling is to buy kwv3's. people buy the v3's and are disappointed that it doesn't solve their problems

I left my front plates out, but on mine they were only 1/8" thick.
Here's a picture

Personally I love the ride, I am glad I did not go with the H&R's as they sit a little lower and ride a bit stiffer. I might add a set of Bilstein shocks and a set of sway bars to make it handle a little better.

they are there, the problem is the top hat of the strut isnt really made to sit on the strut tower, i see it giving problems squeeking down the road, not to mention that plate sprreads the weight across the top hat and supports the 3 studs.

even if its perfectly safe to take it out, the plate is an 1/8 thick, its not gonna be a visable extra drop, so it should be just left in

The diagram with the plate looks like it's at least 1/2" thick. Looking at the DIY for the H&R springs for an i, it appears that plate is not there. But 1/8" is not much and BMW did put it there for a reason...

Now would you guys say it's lower than an i with ZSP or about the same.

just bought a set of eibachs for 328i to use with my coupe. So you think the ride will be softer than the H&R's that are 328xi specific?
