Sometimes you just have to do things unconventionally. Do you realize all my record breaking runs were done with avoiding the water box and absolutely no warm-up burn out? I just do a light 1/2 second scrub, and I'm off. You see, I figure with no LSD, you can't evenly heat up the tires anyways.

Both tires spin like a lsd on burn out,so you can heat them up a little if you want before your launch. And when you launch if you get any wheel spin, both rear tires will spin.

I understand how anti-dyno you are... why not use the dyno to prove your point then? Dyno as you are, the same way you make these fast runs (race gas + 17-18 psi) with the stock airbox.
Start really modding your car and dyno again, and then get back on the track. The comparison will be very interesting. Quote:

Yup the ET Streets were definitely a handful. Probably unstable due to mixing radials with bias ply. But yes I absolutely did no tire heating and half the runs were at 28psi in the hoosiers!

you can heat both tires warren, give it a shot. If you ever hit one of Terry's unreal 60 ft times you will put down a serious et.

lol you and your 25+ psi! Mine are always at 15psi... I bet if you were a 6mt you would need a lot less psi because the launches have to be really high... I drop the clutch at about 4300 rpms

I knew it! I have to test it out next time but from my experience, DRs that we use seem to perform better at higher pressures: trap and ET times were better with higher pressure. Go figure.

I thought I had them set at around 24psi. But after doing some runs and being out in the hot sun, I believe the pressure went up.

Interesting that they went up that much. I measured after just 1 run and they went up 2 psi in each tire. (23 to 25 in 60F).

I had a video of me doing a warm up burn out, only one tire was smoking. And many times, I didn't see any advantage of going through the waterbox in relation to my ETs. But mainly I really enjoy pulling off some decent ETs without burn up the tread on my DRs. But yes, if I properly heated up the tires, (or a super sticky track), with a 1.66 60' time, I woiuld probably be getting a 11.5x qtr mile.
