Help: Procede install - long crank/engine light
Hi, I've just installed my procede rev ii (no CANBUS yet - it's coming in the mail) but I've run into a few issues.
1. When the car starts, it cranks for about 5 seconds before it starts and then finally comes on. Once at idle, I get the 1/2 engine symbol immediately. Is this normal? I have yet to let it idle the 2-3 minutes for fear of damaging the engine. I don't have a code reader so unfortunately I can't diagnose it that way. Can anyone shed some light? Thanks again. I had the same problem, but in my case we didn't follow the instructions and connected one wire wrongly

Thanks, my SES light came on, but luckily I had a Scangauge II to clear the code.
I ended up with a code: P0016 (P0016 Crankshaft Position Camshaft Position Correlation (Bank 1 Sensor A)) Hopefully I didn't do any damage. I didn't drive it and only let it idle for about 30 seconds total while it through the code. |

Bent pins and bad connections are my biggest fear when messing around with the wiring harness. If a connection failed as in this case the result should be fairly obvious but if the connection is intermittant you may be forever chasing gremlins.
