Fair price for spec?

Browsing and found this local to me. Could be tempted, if I can unload mine and the finance deal is right. Still love the Coral Red and it seems to tick most of the required options except upgraded audio. Hmmmm....

Looks a really nice car and spec. The black red colour combo looks great.

If you are a manual man will the Auto be right for you long term? Go and try and get an extended test drive in the car and see what you think.

Good point about the auto guys. My first test drive was in a 335i auto...and I opted for a manual. Think you're right that i need to test drive one again to see what I really think about the auto 'box.

Damned if I can find a decent spec 335i manual in the price range.

Have a look on drivethedeal - discounts appear to be back with a vengence.

335i MSport DCT with 19"s, leather, multimedia, BT and heated seats - 34,500 new. This is for a car from stock. The manual version would be 33,100!

It appears you can only get a self shifting 335i with DCT now, not the slushbox auto - so that AUC is "obsolete" so to speak.

On this basis that 5 month car is overpriced IMO, though the dealer might not have much margin and be in denial!

(note the highline models are there too, but seem comparitively expensive without Nav - can't add it as an option to those models either - so there maybe a problem with the pricing)

Sure it is only business nav you can get with the highline package, probably a stock pile they need to get shot of.

I don't think 3er coupe highline spec includes any Nav - but the 5er business pack does - and as you say its business Nav not Prof. The highline prices seem odd on drivethedeal as it would be cheaper to start with the base model and add toys.

The spec I quoted above for the 335i on drivethedeal included full fat Multimedia Prof Nav & Bluetooth etc. - a 7400 discount on list. This seems alot on reflection, but try it - thats what it says.

I was going with trying to spec a highline on the bmw config, and it wont let you pick pro nav but would let you pick the business nav.

Yeah they are rather large discounts (bmw subsidised) but you have to take what they have already built, so you know what its like there will be no spec cars or bad colour combos etc.

Gav, as we know 9 out of 10 6 cylinder BMWs are auto's rather than manuals for residual and everyday driving style.

I guess you could give an auto a test drive, wait for a manual 335i or look for a new unsold one or a new factory car with a good deal on it. I still think your current car looks stunning but understand the desire for a good spec 335i Sport with the 19's / NAV etc.

Anyone tried the DCT in the latest 335i yet, or is it too new? It would seem a good half way house between benefits of a Manual (hence avoiding a sappy torque converter etc.) and auto (smooth waft along changes when in the mood, but also snappy direct control when wanted but avoiding the potential residual misery of a big manual 6 pot BMW as stated above).

They seem to be pushing Bus Nav all over the shop - probably to shift the stock of old Nav computers with their old Nav supplier - they've swapped supplier for the new prof multimedia job I think.

The DCT does hold a certain appeal. I'll look into it thanks.

Cheers Peter. I do love my Space Grey and red combo, particularly on a sunny day I'll drive some cars and see what I think.

If you're hunting for a replacement car in that price bracket would you consider an M3??? Yeah, overall it'll end up costing more (fuel, insurance, service, etc), but don't the M-cars get special finance rates so could work out roughly the same monthly finance package.

This one seems very good value and after a little bartering you might be able to get a cracking deal...

http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/auc/car_d...WD92030PY34764

Other than that, I'd wait for a manual 335i, what a car. How's about this one, it's my friends, great spec, great value, manual, and I can personally vouch for it's history (it would be just like buying from a dealer; honestly). If you're interested then PM me and I'll put you in touch (it's for sale on a contacts website to save autotrader costs). The indy it's with could also talk to you about a part-ex...

Did think about one...a lot! My problem is that 5 days of the week I'm stuck in pretty slow moving traffic doing relatively low mileage, so the petrol becomes a bit of an issue. Still incredibly tempted though!

Your mate's car looks fantastic, but if I am going to change I think I'll be looking at an 08/58 plate really. Thanks for the heads up though.

That is for cars that are in stock / already built or else you have to add 1k to the price, but still big discounts non the less...
