Just looked on the BMW Germany site and they quote engine power in PS and kw. Their PS figures match the UK bhp figures so the 330 petrol is 272 bhp in UK and 272PS (200kw) in Germany so this remains a puzzle for the Highlines.

What about the facelift theory? Sounds logical if this is what they did last year for the saloon and touring but couldn't find anything current on the net suggesting an E92/93 facelift for the 2010 models.

I agree, the E90 facelift was very well 'leaked' with lots of spyshots all over the motoring press for at least 12 months prior to launch, and the edition models were released very clkose to the old models demise.

I have not seen any news of an 'imminent' E92 facelift so doubt it is anything more than a play to boost flagging sales in the most profitable way possible. They can prob churn out loads of these model cars and distribute them across the dealer network so they can be sold without a 'factory order' - As they already have most popular options already fitted, not many will wait a couple of months for a factory car when a near perfect spec one already exists.

So what is the point of denying the ability to go for the Navigation Professional on the Highlines when you can opt for everything else? Agree on leather and wheels as obvious marketing bonuses but as soon as you start putting anything else on you are pretty much back into factory orders aren't you?

I'm 9 weeks away from scheduled delivery so have asked a couple of pointed questions - it will be interesting to see what answers I get back. It makes my current order feel rather less than value for money all of a sudden

I may be wrong, but the offer from BMW, M sport for the price of an SE, doesn't mention the highline spec,so doesn't that mean its not the same price as the SE ? maybe thats why leather is now standard[on highline]

I think that the details that went on the website initially was a complete cock-up by someone! Now that all the details have been integrated into the website it turns out that the Highline is 750 more than a standard model rather than the 105 less that was initially shown

Engines are the same etc and the offer makes more sense now - a package of extras for 750 vice 2500 (although still not sure why they deny you the Nav Pro or will they really...).

I heard the M Sport upgrade offer is only available on stock/pre-reg cars. That's why BMW are offering it: to shift some back stock. I think it does say 'subject to availability'. So it's not like yuo can order a new car from the factory, and get an M Sport upgrade.

As suggested, they may be banging out standard spec models for highline and since the bluetooth being installed isn't the standard fitting (no fin aerial) maybe sat nav pro isn't being offered because you need the Telematics version for best affect - and that isn't fitted.

According to my dealer you can spec whatever you like - denial of Nav Pro on the website is a glitch so you can include it and take the price advantage of the Highline extras package. They also said that they had heard nothing about a facelift for the E92/93 this summer and expect it next year if it is going to happen. Works for me

I find it weird that the E90 has had a face lift, and seemingly the E92/3 will be getting one next year, however the X3 is still butt ugly and no sign of a refresh. I know they did something with the back lights 12 months ago or so, however it's still ugly (Sorry, personal view!)

According to Autocar a new 3 series is coming out next year so would they bother with a nip and tuck on the E92 and E93? I know the saloon is always first and everything else follows but it doesn't seem to make much sense to me!
