Nice one Ant

Now your next job is to find me someone who makes a decent slotted brake disc with separate bells in 336 x 22mm size for the rear of my car....!!!!! AP don't make them, PFC don't make them... irritating!!!

Will the outermost drilling be too close to the edge of the disc? (I'm thinking cracking?)

They start off life as BMW Performance front brake discs 338mx26, we just machine 4mm off the outer edge to give the same diameter as standard discs.

The 135i's have solid discs with no cross drill holes or slots, so we sell quite a few of these to 135i owners that want the better looks and cooling.

Ant, you mentioned these to me the other day. Is is purely an aesthetic upgrade or is there any improvement in performance. Chat more on Friday...

I cant see them giving any real improvement in performance, other than better cooling really.

Cross drilling has a negligeable effect on cooling. Cross-drilling is done to prevent brake fade caused by hot gasses forcing the pad away from the disc - the gas caused by the boundary friction disperses through the holes.

The E92 330d's have the 335 style brakes with the larger aluminium callipers.

Just do a quick check to see if yours are like the calliper pictured above or totally different and larger...

P.S. Ant, on your 335i 'bmw performance products' page, under front brake set.. it says replacement discs at 68 quid instead of 75 that it has on their page... unless they are supposed to be 68?

Cheers for the heads up, error fixed, they are 75 for the standard non-modified ones.
