Sway bars setup and KW question ftw

#1I'm getting either the KW V1 or V3, and I wanted to see what you all have, I hate my understeer in my car so sway bars seem like a must. Wanted to know what is recommended.
#2 Hopefully my KW's do fine, I heard some horror stories about them and I live on a country road with a lot of bumps. Squeaking for instance, bent sh!t and such. I don't want to match up the wrong set of sway bars with KW's (if people stopped having squeeking problems) and the stuff break down the road, I live about 25 miles away from the nearest suspension shop.

I did btw and came up with very little for answering these specific questions.

I just had KW Street Comforts and a set of H&R sways installed. Don't have a lot of miles on them just yet (~500) and so far no noises at all. Really enjoying this setup.

You have an xi so your only option is the KW V3 or the H&R coilovers. For sways you can do UUC, Hotchkis, H&R, BMW in the rear, and UUC up front. The UUC bars give you a quite flat car with a safe amount of understeer that you can dial out with the V3. The V3/UUC combo is really killer, especially if you add in the Hotchkis chassis brace, but that's just my opinion .

In terms of the squeaking....yea, the V3 squeaks or pops or creaks every once in a while. I've never understood people's gripes with sounds from their suspension or sounds from their ceramic brakes....you're buying a performance part that's more often than not designed for track use, they don't care about noise However, most of the time the V3 is silent and with enough bushing grease, the sways are as well. In terms of camber plates, it may be a good idea to pick up the KW plates from whatever vendor you pick up the V3 from since they offer a large adjustment range and are silent. I have KMAC's right now and am pissed off that I only got the Stage 2 and will be getting the KW's as soon as I can.

EDIT: Also, you can't really....match up the WRONG set of sways... I would say if you get a sway at all, get the UUC front/rear so your car isn't twisting funky like mine did with just a rear bar.

he can get kw v1's also... they make them in XI (probably what I am purchasing this week).

UUC's are really nice, and probably the best set for XI's (I don't believe H&R even makes them for the XI). If I could do the install myself and not have to drop the subframe or pay someone else to do it then I'd totally get them too.

Dave where you been?

Yeah I pressured KW on them several months back told them you guys needed a lower cost solution so the KW V1's are now available.

How are you sway bars? - if anyone doesn't know Dave is the first to get the XI sway bars from UUC

Where have I been? School...pursuing a degree in Computational Mathematics at RIT (4th year) and a Master Certificate in Music Production using Pro Tools at Berklee Online. I actually had my new mods (OC, chassis brace) sitting under my bed for like...6 months because I haven't had time to breath, let alone give up my car for a week. It's summer now though and I have two kick ass jobs lined up so I'm back on the forums (currently procrastinating before finals and final projects...). The sways are fantastic, and so are the V3s. Thanks again for all your help man!

That's great that you got a lower cost alternative to the H&Rs, I haven't heard anything good about them. Good work as always

Thanks for all that information. That's what I call a post!
