DI Waffle Weave Drying Towels? - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

Let me preface my question by saying that I'm extremely satisfied with DI (I think I probably spent near a grand there over the past month).

I just received several waffle weave drying towels from Detailed Image.
They seem to be about one quarter of the thickness of the waffle weave drying towels from Auto Geek. Do they work well? Should I send them back and buy towels from Auto Geek?

Has anyone tried them?

They are very good towels. Try it out yourself. I love mine myself.

Haven't tried them in direct comparison to the Autogeek ones, but they work fine for me. With the sheeting method, you really shouldn't need an insanely thick towel to dry the car. One waffle weave from DI dries my entire car (sometimes I'll use two, but one does the job).

I would use the sheeting method to rinse off the car and you won't even need a Waffle Weave towel. Use a leaf blower if you have one

I gave the sheeting method a try. I even watched the video on Youtube. I still can't make it happen.

I'll give it another shot this weekend.

Which Autogeek ones do you have? I have their green cobras, and they are the same thickness as the DI ones. Did you get the ones that have a sponge sewn into it?

Anyway, I like my DI one better, the AG one was shedding. They sent me a new set, but I haven't moved it back to the primary towel because there is no reason right now.

I use several to dry the car but, I have about 6 of them now...so, newest on top...and older for lower half of the car.

Here's a quick overview on the sheeting method. After using that, typically what I'll do is blot dry the rest of the vehicle with one of our waffle weave drying towels, then give it a quick once over with a quick detailer and a plush microfiber towel.

This combination has helped speed up my drying process while minimizing adding imperfections and water spots to the paint.

I do the exact same thing...wash, dry, QD! Works great. The drying always takes awhile so, I'll check out this sheeting method. Anything to expedite the drying!

Using a QD after a wash is slightly different than if you QD'd a car to remove a light dusting. You really only need a spritz or two per panel if you are using it as a drying aid. Right now I've been using Chemical Guys Speed Wipe and have had good luck with it. I just got in Dodo Juice Time to Dry which is designed specifically for this process but haven't had a chance to put it to use yet.
