Dude I got the creaking seat thing too, it doesn't do it all the time...pretty much just gettin in and out. Sounds like my seat is loose. I've been meaning to tell SA, but I always forget. Let me know if you figure it out.

i checked the base bolts but its not them it does it mainly if you shift your weight back and forth, had a word with a friend who trimmed the seats in leather and he said he cant see what there is in the seat that could be causing it, its obviously a "BMW" thing

There is a post somewhere on creaking seats and some remedies, so do a search on that bud.

Also I have a creaking sunroof when it is open, to stop it, shut the sunroof about 1cm from from when it is fully retracted, this works for me. Not an ideal fix but better I am sure than the stealer dismantling your headlining and sunroof assembly to check for creaks !!!.

Creaking sunroofs and seat frames are often cured with a carefully aimed shot of sticky spray grease or WD40.

Indeed; but a careful squirt on each pivot & mounting would be a good start.

It does take some time for the fluid to work into the joints at times, so don't expect an instant result.

Silicone grease is good for door seals and sunroof bits, used that loads too. The best stuff comes from Dow Corning in a squeezy toothpaste type tube.

just the seat, the roof is at the back where there is no access to anything, it sounds like the inner bit which slides over to cover the glass, dealer told me they would have to remove the headlining to find it, i said leave it as i expected that creak to go and a dozen others to appear!!
