335i engine vs 325 328i 330i - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

This will probably be a noob question but im not sure whats the exact difference between the engines. Does the 335i just have a twin turbo while the other models dont?? I wonder if i could just take the turbo out of the 335i and put it in 325i lol iono noob question but i would like some answers thanks guys

the e92 335i is a twin turboed version of the e46 330i engine which had aluminum casing. the e90 325, 328, 330 all are completely different newer engines than the previous e46 models and use magnesium casing for better fuel efficiency.

Direct injection, lighter design/manufacturing..there is a bunch, a search will find everything you need. Try wikipedia aswell.

Its a different engine family, the 335i has the N54B30 engines while US spec 325i, 328i and 330i has the N52B30 engines (various tunes/iterations). Waiting for the N53 engine with lean burn Direct Injection to be introduced to the E9X family, as well....possibly starting with the E93.
