Definitely take it to a professional and I don't mean the dealership. I remember my uncle mentioning they use ozone somehow. I think it works like a humidifier and saturates the area and disolves whatever is causing the smell.

I had a chick puke in my back seat a few months back. Best thing was just joy[ish] riding with all windows down. Of course I had to smell it the whole time, but it worked with lots of cleaning. Somehow the odor got into the trunk though and it was in there like twice as long. Couldn't really get away with hauling up 5 with the trunk open... Good luck.

I puked in my last bimmer a few years ago. It was bad....shit got everywhere, down in the carpet, in the seat crevices, etc. The smell was unbearable in the heat and nothing seemed to work.

As others have said, it's definitely the bacteria...

All you need to do is go to a good carpet cleaning supply store and purchase some anti-bacterial carpet cleaner. Just ask them, they'll tell you what you need. I never had any issues with the smell after that.

Just whatever you do, don't ever get crap in your AC vents.....
